At the start of the journey, we recognised the gym needed a lot of building work and to make it the best possible space for boxers we needed equipment and help.
The support has been fantastic. Duttons Builders have helped turn the gym from a dusty agricultural shed to a usable space. Pat Ward made it visibly a boxing club by helping provide a Boxing Ring. Premier Sports and Pete Chandler, in memory of Elizabeth Buckley, helped with the essential items along with donations from club coaches James, Kevin and Zoe to provide punchbags and England Boxing affiliation. We had the start of a club
As we started to train young people, we recognised the need to encourage as many 10-16 year olds as possible to join. Additionally there are specific groups in the community we feel would benefit from the gym. To achieve this we needed to make the new gym usable with good equipment and the ability to increase capacity. This has been made possible thanks to our community partners Maverick Stars, Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, Everybody Foundation and Cheshire Crimebeat. We look forward to a long term relationship supporting Holmes Chapel and surrounding areas
On the 4th May 2020 the Charity Commission confirmed our status as a Registered Charity (No 1189313). This will enable the
club to deliver more services to the community and will be led by a new team of Trustees; Paul Edwards, Tracey Goodwin, Alastair Barton, Martin Cummins, Sue Dando, Stephen Rawlinson and James Rice who will continue his role as a coach in addition to being a Trustee.
