Boxers can compete between the ages of 10 and 39 (40th year). HCBC classes start at 8 years old in preparation for competition. Recreational Boxing has no age limit.
Yes, we have Competition and Recreational Boxing for ages 16 and over. Competition boxing is specifically for adults with boxing experience that want to compete. Recreational boxing is for adult beginners and boxing for fun and fitness.
There is no joining fee. Competition boxers pay an ANNUAL Membership to help cover the costs associated with competition and affiliation, but also access subsidised classes through a monthly AMATEUR Membership. There is no annual membership fee for Recreational boxers, monthly RECREATIONAL memberships are available.
CADETS, JUNIOR RECREATIONAL and SENIOR RECREATIONAL are all suitable for beginners wanting to learn how to box for fun or a pathway to competition. LADIES THAT PUNCH, FIGHTING FIT, OVER 55's and SATURDAY OPEN GYM are all suitable for beginners who want to learn boxing technique and fitness.
Comfortable clothes to train in, hand wraps and a gumshield for Competition Boxing. Wraps and gumshields are available to purchase at the gym. Club gloves are available to borrow.
Fixed time 121's can be booked through our clubright app with Coach Erin and Beginners Boxing Basics with Coach Zoe. For more options please contact club@boxingchapel.co.uk
